What’s Involved

Timings: 2 hour facilitated workshop (timings may be adjusted slightly eg. for full day bookings)
Venue: Portland Basin Museum
Costs: £111.50 for TMBC schools / £122 for non-TMBC schools

Join our History Keeper on a journey through Tameside across the ages. What did Tameside used to be like? Just what’s the point of museums and why does history matter? Your group of History Seekers will navigate the museum, working together to solve clues. Can you find the missing pieces of history and restore order to the timeline of Tameside’s Past?

Participants will use their History Seeker skills to compare, contrast and connect the past and present. On a trip over epochs of Tameside, your group will collect facts, figures and artefacts, explore stories, exchange ideas and enquire.  Which trends and changes over time will your group spot?

Your group will split and swap over to ensure a quality experience for everyone. Participants will also get hands on with our ‘history mystery’ objects to investigate changes over time. Explore the past, compare with the present and imagine the future using our Then, Now, Wow worksheet and resources. We provide everything your group will need to take part.

Learning Opportunities

Extend Your Experience
