As part of a renewed focus on creativity across Tameside, and to make the best use of the funding secured as part of the Flexible Local Authority Grants, Tameside Council has announced the launch of Creative Communities Grants for local groups and individuals to apply for - and applications are open for 2025-26!
This grant scheme, funded by the Flexible Local Authority Grants, offers artists and creative organisations across Tameside the opportunity to apply for a £1000 grant to deliver a brand-new creative project in their local area.
The aims of this grant scheme are:
The Creative Communities grants will support the creation of an exciting and diverse programme of cultural activities across the borough of Tameside. It will focus on creativity and celebrate new ways of encouraging the public to engage with the arts through activities and events. The projects will bring people into their town centres or invite them to explore their green spaces and attract people from Tameside and beyond into the borough.
Project proposals submitted to this programme must fit with the overall themes of the Tameside Creative Communities grant aims:
● Must take place in Tameside
● Must take place before February 28th 2026.
● Be a creatively led activity or event.
● Must encourage more footfall to Tameside and the area where the programme takes place.
● It must be inclusive and engage with a broad audience.
● It must increase pride and community participation in Tameside.
The funds can be used to cover the costs of speakers, arts and crafts workshops, dance, theatre or music performances, developing a play or a film, creating an exhibition or art trail, or any other reasonable costs for holding an activity or event.
How to apply:
The grants will be awarded to ensure an even spread of creative activity across Tameside, spanning all kinds of modes of creating and engaging.
This will be an exciting year of fantastic new projects celebrating our creativity and the wonderful spaces the borough boasts, and encouraging visitors from Tameside and beyond to come see what’s In Tameside!
