Whether you are looking for a walking route to explore your local area, a fun family activity or want to join a local walking group – there’s never been a better time to get walking in and around Tameside.
Over the next few months there are a series of guided walks below featured below that you may want to join in with walking guide Paul Nethercott.
Ridge Hill Trail, Sunday 26 October 2025, 12noon - 3pm
Join us on a two and a half mile gently paced walk with Paul Nethercott taking in the views from the top of Ridge Hill over the Cheshire countryside

Millbrook Moorland Edge Walk, Sunday 23 November 2025, 12noon - 3pm
Discover the moorland around Millbrook on a moderate 3 mile walk with Paul Nethercott

Moors and Mills Meander, Sunday 11 January 2026, 11am - 3.30pm
Look at the historical and natural aspects of the Brushes Valley on a 6.5 mile walk with Paul Nethercott.

Hough Hill Trail, Sunday 22 February 2026, 11:30am - 3pm
Join us on a 3.5-mile moderate walk around the Gorse Hall and Cheethams Park area of Stalybridge looking at the local history and wildlife.

From industrial heyday to wildlife reclamation, an easy two mile walk with Paul Nethercott
