One after the other, the cotton mills of Lancashire and Greater Manchester closed. Riches of cotton mill owners were visible to all, introduction of machines and factory work became part of life in the UK. International and internal migration in the UK and social norms were established. But have you ever stopped to reflect on the many hands that made the British Cotton Industry a success?

After the talk there will be tea, coffee, and biscuits and the opportunity to talk to the speaker.
